My iBook G3 booting up
Weird, I find iTunes 7 slow on a G3, but fast on a G4 and above. Maybe its because I was using a Beige G3 at 233. Wish iTunes 7 worked okay on a friends 400Mhz PowerBook G3 (slow as a dog).

actually, itunes 7 is fast on my ibook, but itunes 8 flogs it opening up on my emac

It does work, but the speed is so slow that iTunes 5 or earlier is a better bet. 5 has the store, and should work like 8 does on a Intel Mac. Fast.

my 366mhtz ibook with 320mbs of ram running 10.3.9 has itunes 7 and it works fine, however it dose take about 10 seconds to open!

that computer doesn’t need better hardware. it needs software.

1. You need to reinstall mac os x.
2. Your iBook G3 doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for iTunes 6, so iTunes wouldnt have installed anyway (it requires a 500 Mhz G3).

I have a newer dual usb G3 that had a similar problem, reinstalling tiger fixed it and had no problems since.
