Hey Rodney, when i did install a new HDD on my laptop i had to to right click My Computer, select Retreat, then goto Diskmanagement, then right-click on the HDD i just installed and choose Initialize HDD. After doing that i had to reformat the HDD to NTFS so i can have single files over 4 GB on the HDD. I have 2 HDD slots on my computer and installed the HDD in slot 2. Did you have to go throught the same, or did Windows 7 the job for you when you reinstalled in on the new HDD?

Yes you will if it is the main hard drive, however if you have a larger laptop such as a 17″ it may have two hard drive ‘bays’ if this is the case and you are adding a new one and keeping the older one then no.

LOL the old one looked exactly the same as the new one with the cover on
