How can I wake up my folded Ibook g4 using an external screen and typewriter and mouse?
Using a macintosh Ibook G4 together with an external monitor, I am supposed to wake up the Ibook by pressing ESC, keeping G4 closed. I have followed the suggested procedure, but it does not work. It wakes up but it stops again after few seconds.

Which suggested procedure do you refer to?
The iBook is not designed to be used with the lid closed. The heat must escape through the keyboard. There are hacks to make it work with the lid closed, but this could result in heating problems. My suggestion is to dim the screen completely.
