how to set up my MAIL on my new iBook from a hotmail account ? ?
i just got an iBook and being the virgin that i am with this new OS, i am having a hard time setting up the MAIL account from my hotmail account. is hotmail a pop account? anyone? please?

i know it is, but i want to be able to use my MAIL program frmo by iBook to retrieve my email instead of having to access the webmail all the time …
the MAIL program on my iBook is like your MS Outlook, per say.

Hotmail is a web mail service. btw, do you use hotmail plus? It is posible if you use this.

You cannot set up your hotmail into your MAIL, just like you couldn’t set up your hotmail account into any other mail program, like OUTLOOK or EUDORA. I tried with my yahoo account, but couldn’t. So I kept one email address for purchasing on the internet (so all SPAM would go to one account) and the one I use in MAIL, I use for friends/family, etc.
Who is your internet service provider? If it is, say, Verizon, call and set up an email account yourname@verizon.com (set up a password) and then go to MAIL PREFERENCES and in ACCOUNTS fill in your username and the incoming and outgoing mail servers (i.e. smtp.verizon.com and mail.verizon.com) as provided by your ISP.
