I need a real good resolution on a laptop.?
I bought a Dell Inspiron 6000 and returned it, I bought a HP Pavillon 15.4 bright resolution, etc I’m still not satisfied with the quality of the image, shouls I buy a 17″ or do you know of one that looks like a crt?

focus on the DPI, thats what resolution is all about, not the inches.

To get the best resolutions, you need better graphics cards. If you have intergrated graphics, it uses memory from the system and is limited. If you purchase a laptop with an upgraded video card with 128mb memory or 256mb, then you’ll get better graphics.

The latest laptop displays now rival CRTs but are not as good as the best CRTs yet, not really. Especially for dark scenes in games.
1) Make sure you are running in the laptops native resolution, anything else will be slightly blured, lowering the quality of what you see. You’ll be amazed how much better just doing this.
2) Laptops trade off quality for power and mobility. Get a small laptop with good battery life and graphics card, then buy a external keyboard, mouse, and display for your docking needs.
3) Here is a site with reviews of displays. I’d go with tom’s recommendation and get a ViewSonic VP191b.
