I need a replacement notebook . What kind should I buy?
For years, my home PC has also been my work PC. I’m retiring and will need a replacement. Nothing fancy and it doesn’t need to be a screamer – I’m not a gamer. Basic functions are fine – word processing, spread sheet, powerpoint, wireless, read write cd, large hard drive and maybe a camera for video conferencing.

It really depends on what kind of money you are willing to spend. But I think a Dell would probably be your best bet. Inspiron 6000 is a good line, and as I have a widescreen laptop myself, I know how much more data it will show and how good DVDs look. The music and photos option on the page I will give you looks like an extremely good deal that will last for a good long time. However, if you are looking for something cheaper, the base system would work for you, but does not inlude anti-virus programs, smaller hard drive, and the warranty is only one year instead of two. Hope this helps

Ever think about switching to a Mac? I love my Powerbook and would highly recommend it to anyone!
