I am not able to play newly burnt DVDs (+ or -) in my DVD player or from desktop/laptop. The burn process completed fine. I am not sure if the problem is with the DVD buring software? Please help. Appreciate your thoughts.
Few more points: I use Roxio DVD burning software to burn my DVDs. I have burnt both data files and MPEG files and both cannot be read from other computers. Thanks in advance!!!

I assume you are trying to create a DVD Video, not a DVD-ROM. The files for a DVD Video need to be in specific places on the disc. You need burning software that is DVD aware and handles this properly for you.
I assume you are also aware that you need to author the DVD using an authoring application. You cannot just burn a disc with some MPEG files on it and have it be a DVD.

I must say i have sometimes the same problem, I have two dvd players in my pc, one writable and one to read only. I use nero burning rom 6 / I must say about 95 % goes on the dvd writer to be played but 5 % is not working proparly or the sound is not going very well. Yes it is possible to just put it on a dvd if you make a data dvd. Try making a data dvd and not a video dvd. good luck. You can put anything you want on a data dvd, even mixed.
