Which is better; shutting down, then restarting or putting it to sleep. Using a MAC iBook G4?

It is always a good idea to shut down your computer when you do not need it for a few days. I use my iBook daily, so when i am finished i just close it and let it sleep. If I know i do not need it for a longer period of time, i do shut it down. However, at least once every 2 weeks I will shut it down completly over night, just to give it a rest. I don’t know if it helps or not.

Sleep mode is fine for a while. But if you put it to sleep to often it gets slower.
Every 3 days at least reboot the system.

I work at Apple.
Our advice is to shut it down if you don’t intend on using within 3 days.

I have a G4 iBook and I normally shut mine off when I go to bed, otherwise during the day I just put it to sleep. The only thing to keep in mind with your laptop is that it uses more battery to turn the computer on, than to wake it up from sleep. It all really depends on your usage and how mobile you are with your computer.
