Compaq Presario 701z?
I have a Compaq Presario Laptop, its a few years old, and has only been online one time, now im getting this weird blue screen with bunch of numbers on it, and windows will not load, What should i do?? Anyone know about problems like this??

compaq’s are notorious for their internal wireless cards causing bluescreens. If there is one turn it off. Also when you start the laptop, right away keep hitting f8 and select safemode. If it still doesnt boot into safemode than insert your windows disc and run the recovery console or format the h.d. and re-install windows. If it does boot into safemode check your device manager and make sure your devices are o.k. and run a virus scan in safe mode.

That would be hard to troubleshoot here. Could be a hardware problem, could be a software problem, it sounds like a memory dump to me. You could try to reformat and reinstall Windows using your restore CDs. If that doesn’t work then I would do what the above poster said and take it to a repair shop.

ooo the blue screen of death. Well try booting in safe mode, but if it is not leting you do anything and going straight to the blue screen of death, the best advice I can give you is put a new OS on it. You have something that is corrupt and will not let you boot. Most likely it is the hard drive or the motherboard. Try taking out your hard drive and hooking it up to another to see if it will boot. If it does the same then its your hard drive. if not then its you motherboard.
