this one above is alright, the ghz is low, but good ram knowing it is ddr2. gigz are nice, its decent for alappy, but if u really want a good cheap laptop go to this site:

Save your money for your laptop. I think the best one for your buck is the Inspiron. You dont want a 512: not enough for work everyday or week or anything and it will get slow real quick. The Inspiron om the other hand is HUGE and at a good price. I am not advertising: I myslef have an iBook, and they are pretty good, too. I reccomend you save a while, and get a really great one for a good price. For 700? Get something else.

These are good specs. Try to get an 80gb hard drive in it instead of the 40 and make sure that the hard drive is 7200rpm – for better speed performance. Also, put in a DVD-writer instead of the Combo drive if you plan to use the laptop for atleast the next 2 years. This processor supports 1mb L2cache with Execute Disable Bit feature and SIMD Extensions 2 – Very good specs indeed.

It’s adequate. My desktop is less….. Check ebay for good prices. My company recently sold a Dell 1100 for $450 that was better than what you cited.
