I have an Ibook laptop by Apple.

When I say discoloring.. I mean the color is fading out on the unit. And there are other areas where there’s fading… For instance, on some keys on the key board, certain parts are shinier than others. Is that normal with regular use? Is it attributed to sweat and all that? And does the warranty cover it?

Has anyone else noticed this on their laptops? Or am I the only one with such problem?

I’m having a hard time trying to install the operating system to my notebook, I bought a brand new HDD and I’m getting a message that It is damaged, which I know It isn’t, i for got to let you know I have a IBM thinkpad PIII notebook.

I’m having a hard time trying to install the operating system to my notebook, I bought a brand new HDD and I’m getting a message that It is damaged, which I know It isn’t, but how do I find out if my board is defective?.

ok, Quick run down, I’ve had my laptop for roughly two years. One year ago, the mother board was fried and I had it replaced. This mainlu occured because I frequently used my laptop on my bed..and occasionally fell asleep with it there. This year, it started acting funny, repeating the same things it did before the mother board died, so I cleaned out the fans and the heat sink, as well as any other place I spotter dust. I thought this had worked, until the LCD screen will just shut off and would not come back on unless the whole thing was restarted. Its not like the screen went off for stand-by mode. I’ll be typing, actively using my laptop, then a static like noise will come from it, and the screen cuts to black. I felt under it and the bottom was pretty hot, and while the computer was running, I barely felt air coming from the fans, even though they were on.

I have a Dell inspiron 9100. Do you think that just replacing/upgrading my fans will fix my problems?
