my laptop holds up to 2 Gigs of ram memory, and has two slots, its a toshiba sattelite a105

My laptop has 256 mb ram. I want to upgrade it to atlease 512 mb because of the video card. It has Pc4200 DDR2 SRAM. It can be expandet to 2 gb but i need to know. How do i tell without opening it if i have 1 256mb card in there or 2 128′s

I have a gateway laptop with 512mg ram(2x 256mg), my system is a cx200s tablet pc, and i would like some info on picking the type of ram fo my system. gateway told me my system uses “ddr2 sodimm 533mhz ” and i am looking to get a 1gig card, so @ some point i can expand to 2gig.

Gateway wont tell me much, because they want me to buy from them. os if you know much about this ind of thing, please help me out..
