How do i delete a read only file in windows XP?
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I have a toshiba notebook hard drive in a USB enclosure. I have right clicked on the files to bring up the properties sheet, and none of the files have the read only box checked. It still wont let me delete any files because it says they are read only.
ACS 120 Harddrive enclosoure won’t work… anybody get this thing to work on USB only as it says?
I boutght a Adaptec 120 HDD enclosure for a 2.5″ notebook HDD…
The manual says that hooking up both usbs to a port will allow data to come/go from one and a second one is for power. It states that you don’t need the power supply unless you are only hooking up one (which one it doesn’t say or mark) then you need a 5 volt adapter (which it didn’t include or speak of on the package)
Has anybody got this thing to work at all, and if so, how? (I might be off to find the dang adapter… but probably taking it back to Best Buy instead)
“Right first off, I have bought several enclosure kits and they all came with power leads and adapters and all the necessarry cables and more.”
umm… I happy for you. But this model does not come with one. I have already checked and not only does it not come with one but it doesn’t indicate the specs so I CAN get one. I have an email in with Adaptec regarding the power.
Okay folks, like many of my problems, I eneded up figuring it out myself. No odd errors or anything with USB, just never powered it. Maybe ’cause it’s USB1.1 … who cares. The point is a 5V Radio shack adapter and 500Ma or more and you are squared away and only need the one USB port (and USB 1 works, although sslloooowwww). Still annoyed it doesn’t mention not having one…
My bottom line, buy any other USB enclosure kit other then Adaptec. I will never buy ANYTHING from them again
