My laptop is a Dell Windows XP Home Edition. It does not have a DVD player built in so it’s hard to watch movies on my computer. Is a laptop a PC?

i own a dell inspiron 1150 laptop with window xp home edition. i had just did a reinstallation of windows but my screen resoultion that appears is only 640×480. even though i try to slide the bar to the highest reslotuion the bar will not move and my bit setting will not increase i know that this computer can use a 32bit with 1024×780 because i used that before my reinstallation.
what i do is i go to contral panel and then press appearance and themes than go to Display then push the tab labeled Settings then the problems occurs with the bit and resolution.

I want to partition my SD card and want to install Linux for my PDA iPAQ 6315 that has windows mobile 2003. I want to have two partitions, 1) FAT32 (2) EXT2, please let me know how can i do it on windows. i know how to do it on linux… but i dont have linux.. Thanks a TON

So i got home from school (where i use my laptop during every class) and opened up my laptop (its a Toshiba Tablet pc Portege) to find a tiny spec of somthing that looks like its inside my screen. its hard to explain but from my veiw it looks like its inside the glass but not part of the screen itself. ….like a peice of lent or dust somehow got under my screen ….do u know what this is or how i can get it to goo away!! its fully visable!

I have been looking at a lot of different computers and have no idea which one i want. I am going to be going to Ohio State University and majorsing in Psychology, but need a laptop. Do I want a Sony Vaio, Toshiba Tablet, or HP Notebook? I absolutly have no idea what computer I want. . . Money is not a problem so I don’t want the cheep computer! I know dells are not alot of money, but I heard they are kind of cheeply made! Please Help! I also need help selecting windows! Do I want Windows XP Home or Profesional? What is the difference between the two of them?
