This video was filmed by Charbax at armdevices.net at the cebit 2010 consumer electronics show in Hannover, Germany. Firstview Electronic HK Limited is showing what may be one of the worlds cheapest laptops, it runs Android on a low cost and low power VIA 8505 ARM based 533Mhz processor, with 128MB RAM, 2GB Nand flash, 7″ 800×480 screen, wifi, SD card reader, 3G dongle support. It’s supposed to run 4 hours on a 2100mah battery, it loads websites slower than a more expensive computer, but it can be made for only in the Chinese factories when ordered by big resellers in large quantities. Free Laptop Theft Protection

preyproject.com – twitter.com – What are you afraid of? Go ahead… share your fears with us! Are you afraid of the dark, or of heights! I promise no one will make fun of you for your fears, whatever they are. For me… I’d have to say fear of having my laptop stolen has to be my worst nightmare. I have a lot of data and information on there, and it would be a royal pain to try and straighten it all out again if I lost my machine somehow.Too bad there isn’t some type of free software that I can use… oh… wait… there IS! chris.pirillo.com

Android Laptop Review: Hivision PWS700CA

This is a worlds first video-review of an ARM9 Powered Android Laptop, the PWS700CA by Shenzhen based Hivision, find more info at: hvsco.com It is based on a Rockchip RK2808 600mhz ARM926 processor, 128SDRAM, 7″ 800×480 screen, 720p Video playback support, wifi, Ethernet, audio input/output and weights only 650grams. The price has not yet been announced officially because Hivision is looking for worldwide distributors of this product, who will then decide how much it will be sold for to end consumers. But you can understand that if Hivision was able to sell those types of laptops for more than a year ago www.youtube.com then surely the price has not gone up since then, at least if you consider what might be the manufacturing costs when this Laptop would be mass manufactured. My guess is that if a giant consumer electronics retailer like Amazon, Walmart or Best Buy approached Hivision to order high quantities of this laptop, it could be sold even below to end users.
