My iBook G4 laptop’s DVD drive is stuck with a dvd inside. I press the eject button, but it makes a grating noise. I also restarted and tried, but I got the same result. What can I do?

It happens only some of the time, but especially when I am running a program from disc, like a game. It sounds like the cd is in wrong, but when I take the cd out it continues until I shut down the computer, If I just restart it, it keeps going.
the computer is a dell latitude laptop, C600….
I don’t think it is the fan either, but will try cleaning it out, any ideas?

Dell support wasn’t any help and suggested that it was the speaker drivers. I’ve reinstalled the driver and laptop still making the noise. Is there a way to completely deactivate the speakers and I can plug in headphones to see if its a problem with the audio card?
Even with an outside speaker, it still makes the noise.

The fan in my laptop seems to be busted. There is this really loud noise coming on but no air is blowing on the side and every now and then, the computer will just shut down when it gets really hot (I believe that’s the connection!). Could I possibly just change the fan myself?

I have a Toshiba M400 Tablet PC and it’s fan always runs at the highest speed without any reason and it’s noise annoys me(it seems this problem is it’s design)

Is there any program that I can control the fan’s speed ?
