It is a Satellite P30, and it shuts itself down when i am and am not working on it. I tried running a system scan on it, but it always shuts down when i do it. After rebooting, i get a message saying that the system has something in it installed thats causing it… but i havent really installed anything lately. So whats the deal?

I’m trying to replace a dying SMART HD and Toshiba of course is no help, so I’m looking for any info or maybe a HOW-TO before I dive into the guts and perform surgery on my baby. What dimension drive would I need? Which screws do I need to pull to get into it? I’ve done this on Dell’s and other brands but the lack of support from Toshiba leaves me a little nervous and there seems to be no other users brave enough to do this.
Ok… The error I’m getting is a “SMART Drive immenent failure” message at boot time telling me that I need to transfer data to a different drive as soon as possible.
