Why does everybody call the new Apple iPad a “tablet” when it is not possible to write on it?
If the iPad is a tablet, how can it be an alternative to the many models of TabletPC that have been on the market since at least 2002? I have used a Tablet PC since early 2003 and I have always thought that the only essential difference between a regular laptop and a TabletPC is the fact that I can write on the TabletPC, using the Windows Journal software.

Windows Power Management on a laptop?
I have an Acer TabletPC (TravelMate C300). It has Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 on it (SP2). Windows constantly changes the speed of my processor. It is a Pentium M 1.7GHz, but Windows runs it on 220Mhz most of the time!!!! Imagine working in WinXP on a 220MHz processor!! There is no option in BIOS to disable it. I tried setting different options in Power Management in Control Panel (like Always On, Minimal Power Management, etc) but NOTHING works. Does anyone have any clues as to what should I do (other than buy a new one, or throwing this one out the window)
Well, here’s the thing, I only have Power Options in Control Panel, and no additional applets for power control. And my settings are ‘Always On’, and it doesn’t help. This power control is built into Windows, so there is not way to turn it off, right? I think I could turn off SpeedStep somehow on the chipset, but there is no such option in the BIOS! Heh…. Windows sux

Toshiba Portege 3500 Tablet PC
My Toshiba Portege 3500 Tablet PC up for sale on ebay! I love this baby but I am low on cash and have another laptop anyway. So I need to say goodbye unfortunately. Its a dual boot with Windows Tablet PC (XP SP2), and Ubuntu / Kubuntu / Xubuntu. I have a lot of programs installed on both including office.
